Getting the Word Out - And Helping the Community

A note from the webeditor: This story is from last fall, but it is worth bringing to everyone's attention as Lisa Jenks shared this as a method of PR for your clubs in her recent TELI presentation. With spring right around the corner (really!) the weather will soon be warmer and you won't mind a few hours of work outside - this is a great way to help your community while promoting your clubs!

The Marsh Winds volunteer clean up crew once again had a great time cleaning their adopted Minnetonka roadway - and this time it was a BEAUTIFUL fall day!! Truly a fantastic bonding and community building event!

TELI - Toastmasters Education & Leadership Institute

The Saturday February 20, 2010 TELI was a terrific success. It was held at the DoubleTree Hotel Park Place in St. Louis Park, MN. Early returns on the feedback forms indicate you enjoyed yourself. A big thank you goes to all District 6 members that contributed to making this event such a fun experience - the educational sessions, the luncheon, special guest Craig Valentine 1999 World Champion of Public Speaking - and a world record!

More information about the TELI event will be coming soon. Look for links to some of the educational session materals. TELI pictures are available for your viewing pleasure at the District's Flickr photo library.

Leadership Skills for Executives - Toastmasters Can Help!

Wells Fargo President and Chief Operating Officer John Stumpf: "I’m often asked how Wells Fargo team members can get ahead. As a veteran Toastmaster, I see great things for leaders engaged in this development opportunity. In fact, the future is promising when one can speak with a deeply rooted sense of enthusiasm and clarity, which are taught through Toastmasters." Read the entire letter.
