July 1 starts a new Toastmasters year. How should you celebrate? Here are just a few suggestions....

• Take some time to plan out your Educational Award goals.
• Visit another club; we can all benefit by sharing ideas with one another, and visiting a different club can help inspire us with fresh ideas to take back to our own club. Make it a group effort, and go capture the EGG (Elusive Gilded Gavel) from the current keeper.
• Help your club plan an Open House for this summer or fall.
• If you are a club officer, make sure you attend one of the upcoming training sessions.
• If you have been a member for awhile, think about mentoring a newer member.
• Mark your calendar and plan to attend TELI on Saturday, July 18 More

The first round of Officer Training is kicking off and runs from June 1 through August 31, 2009. Will your club DARE TO BE DISTINGUISHED in 2009? Start earning those DCP points by having at least four of your club officers trained in each round (round two will begin in December.) There is even a special award for those clubs that train all seven officers; you can become a Magnificent Seven Club! Watch the website calendar for opportunities that work for your schedule. The District TELI will be Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the DoubleTree Hotel Park Place in St. Louis Park, MN (Hwy 394 – exit Xenia/ Park Place).

• 8:00 – 8:50 a.m. Club Officer Training Break-Out Sessions
• 9:00 – 11:50 a.m. Choose from several educational sessions
• 12 noon – 2:30 p.m. Luncheon Program (must pre-register)
