Burnsville Woman Elected to Leadership in Toastmasters District 6

Deb Luu becomes Program Quality Director of District 6 Toastmasters.
Will serve community and clubs throughout Southern Minnesota

BURNSVILLE, MN, October 1, 2020 – For 23 years, Deborah Luu has called Burnsville home. And for the past 11 years she has been an active member of Toastmasters.

Luu was recently elected to one of the highest positions in District 6 Toastmasters – Program Quality Director – where she will help lead more than 2500 Toastmasters throughout Southern Minnesota.

“I believe I can make a difference with my passion, energy, leadership style and my desire to serve members so they can learn and grow. Toastmasters has something to offer everyone. I want to spread the word about Toastmasters so others can achieve the same benefits I have received. You are never too old to learn and to be in Toastmasters.

As Program Quality Director, Luu is responsible for all aspects of training for District and Club Officers. By empowering Club Officers with the right tools they will be able to provide a high quality member experience to all club members. She is also responsible for ensuring clubs are engaged in Pathways, Toastmaster’s education program.

“I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds for a common goal. Listening and clear communications are extremely important. I believe I inspire others by being committed to their success.”

Luu belongs to seven Toastmasters clubs (four are leadership clubs) and has been named Toastmaster of the year seven times at the Club, Area, Division and District levels. She has also earned the distinction of Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) twice and is working on her third one. The DTM award is the highest honor Toastmasters bestows and recognizes a superior level of achievement in both communication and leadership.

When she’s not training officers or attending meetings, Luu works as an Accountant at UNFI in Eden Prairie. She enjoys spending time with her 3 grandchildren and family, picking berries in the summer and staying active with CrossFit.
