District 6 Business/Year End tasks

Happy Spring Fellow Toastmasters:

I hope you have had a chance to get out and enjoy Spring! 80 Degrees this week! I have been going for walks, smelling the fresh air, and avoiding those puddles of melted snow. With Spring, I have a renewed drive to continue in my Pathways and complete a couple of levels while continuing to learn and grow as a communicator and leader. I currently belong to 9 Toastmasters clubs and I attend every single meeting whether it be weekly, twice a month, or monthly. Why on earth do I belong to so many clubs? I find value in every club meeting; that’s why! I also have built relationships with other members. I look forward to seeing them at every meeting, hearing their stories, and helping them reach their potential while they help me reach mine. Whether you belong to one club or 10 I hope you are still learning and growing as a communicator and leader and finding value in the clubs you are in. Thank you for being part of District 6 Toastmasters and renewing your dues; continuing to pursue your personal development goals and to be engaged in Pathways!

With a little less than 3 months left this Toastmaster year, there are some items I need your help with:

  1. If you are a part of the District 6 District Council (Club President and VPE, area directors, division directors and top 7 leaders) you have a vote in the upcoming Spring District Council meeting.  Attendance is open to all.
  2. Click here to register for the District Council meeting on April 22 to indicate that you will be there. This includes both the candidate showcase and the district council meeting. The district council meeting will immediately follow the candidate showcase. We need your support to elect our future District leaders and any other district business. We need to have a quorum so please register now.
  3. Click hereto visit the District Council page on our District 6 website for past meeting minutes, and other relevant information.
  4. Click hereto access the District Leadership Committee Report
  5. Click hereto access the Nominated candidates.
  6. Click hereto access the Floor Candidates which will be updated as floor candidates step forward.
  7. Toastmaster of the Year – every year it’s important to recognize those members that have gone above and beyond throughout the year. One member stands out in your club because of their participation inside and outside the club. Clubs choose a TMOY and send this completed form that can be found at Toasmaster of the Year – District 6 Toastmasters (d6tm.org) to their Area Director by June 1. The Area Director will consider your club’s TMOY for the Area TMOY honor announcing the recipient by June 17th. From there, one of the Area TMOYs in each Division will be selected for Division TMOY. Finally, the 6 division TMOYs will vote for the District 6 TMOY! Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize that very special member.
  8. Continuing learning and growing by completing Pathways awards. You have earned almost 500 education awards this year. Congratulations!
  9. Club Officer Elections: please step up and serve your fellow club members in a club officer position. It’s just for one year! Make sure you go to club central and list the new officers for the Toastmaster year 2023-2024 by June 30. By doing this, you will ensure relevant communications are sent from Toastmasters International and District leadership.

Fellow Toastmasters, it has been a great year for District 6! Help me continue on this path where we are Achieving Member Growth and Leadership Excellence.

With gratitude,

Deb
