Empowering the Best in You through Learning Opportunities

Greetings fellow Toastmasters,

I am grateful for the many ways Toastmasters share their gifts and talents throughout District 6. Recently, our Division and Area Directors and several Toastmasters provided helpful and engaging club officer training. Thank you for empowering our attendees through your training sessions that provided resources to benefit our clubs, club officers, and members. I appreciated comments like the ones below from those who attended the club officer training during Round 1.

  • I am energized to help the officers start a success plan and the club become a DCP.
  • Wow! That breakout session was so fun.  🙂
  • Great training with a lot of helpful information.
  • I’ve been in Toastmasters for 15 years and this was the best club officer training that I have attended.

I also heard from some attendees that they would appreciate more time in breakout rooms and more time to engage with their fellow officers. Jamie Richter, DTM, our District 6 Training Director and I have heard you and are planning more opportunities for club officers to engage in conversation during Round 2 of club officers training.

Train the Trainer opportunities:

We are offering two Train the Trainer opportunities to train our Division and Area Directors and any other Toastmaster who wishes to become a certified trainer during Round 2 of Club Officer Training. Here is a video that will explain the Train the Trainer. Division and Area Directors and Toastmasters who wish to be certified to offer Club Officer Training may register for one of the two Train the Trainer sessions via the District 6 Calendar.

  • October 16: 9:00 AM – Noon
  • October 23: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Club Officer Training

If you are a club officer who attended training during Round 1, please take a moment to confirm that your training credit was recorded. You can check your club’s dashboard or you can check out the club officer training report. If you find a discrepancy, please send an email to linda.dorn@d6tm.org, list the name of your club(s), your officer role(s), and the date that you attended training. All training credit for Round 1 must be registered by the District team by October 31, 2021.

Round 2 Club Officer training will begin on November 1, 2021 and end on February 28, 2022. You can find the dates and register for Round 2 Club officer training on the District 6 calendar. You may also see the full list of training dates below. Please note, some training hosts are still setting up their registration sites. If the registration link is not set up on the calendar event yet, please check back in a few days. And, don’t forget the winter Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) on February 12; you can receive Club Officer Training Credit by attending the TLI. The TLI registration link will be available in early November. Here’s a video with an overview on what to expect during Round 2 of Club Officer Training.
