Invest in your Growth in Toastmasters

I can’t believe we only have 4 months left in our 2020-2021 program year. Our theme for District 6 this year is Working Together—Celebrating Excellence. In this month’s article, I thought I would share ways in which we can work with one another to end our program year strong! I’ve also included information on how you can continue to invest in your growth in Toastmasters.

New Club Sponsors and Mentors are Needed as are Club Coaches for our Existing Clubs
We are always looking for members who want to grow in their leadership skills by serving on the Club Growth team. Click here to learn more about serving as a new club sponsor, a new club mentor, or a club coach for an existing club. You may also request a club coach for your club here by completing the Club Seeking Club Coach form.

Please note, we are specifically looking for club coaches for clubs that meet on the following days of the week and times:

  • Second Tuesday of every month at 12:00 PM
  • Every other Thursday at 6:45 PM
  • 2nd & 4th Wednesday 12:00- 1:00 PM
  • Every Wednesday 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 AM
  • 2nd & 4th Thursday 6:30 PM

Membership Renewals are due on or before April 1

To keep clubs in good standing, a minimum of eight members—at least three of whom were members of the club during the previous renewal period—must be submitted, with all payments received on or before April 1st. If you have questions, feel free to read Toastmasters International’s Renewal Dues FAQ, email renewals@toastmasters.org, or call Club and Member Support at +1 720-439-5050, ext. 1402 from 8 AM–5 PM Mountain Time, Monday—Friday. Payments for the next renewal period are being accepted. Club officers can start submitting payments for renewals on toastmasters.org, Leadership Central, Club Central. Try not to wait until March 31st to submit to TI to avoid computer overload.

New Clubs

The Club Growth Team is working with some great new clubs as they work toward chartering. Do you have ideas for new clubs in District 6? If so, please contact me at linda.dorn@d6tm.org. And, great news! Clubs that charter between now and June 30, 2021 will have the $125 charter fee and new member fees of $20 per charter member WAIVED. See our announcements page for more details.

 Membership Growth Ideas

Talk Up Toastmasters
Program Dates: February 1 – March 31
Toastmasters love to connect, so take advantage of it. The Talk Up Toastmasters membership program is the chance to encourage your members to invite guests to a special meeting where prospective members can learn about Toastmasters’ many benefits. Then, add five new, dual or reinstated members with a join date between February 1 and March 31, and you’ll receive a special Talk up Toastmasters ribbon to display on your club’s banner. Qualifying clubs can also earn a special discount code for 10% off their next club order. (The discount code expires six months from the date of issue and is not valid with any other offer.)

Applications and payments for members with a join date between February 1 and March 31 must be received at World Headquarters or online no later than March 31. The addition of transfer and charter members does not count towards Talk Up Toastmasters credit.

The winning clubs will be revealed online within a few weeks of the submission deadline. Winning clubs should allow up to 10 business days to receive their award if they are located in the United States, and up to 21 business days if they are outside of the United States.

LinkedIn Company (Club) Page
Many clubs have social media accounts and websites, but how many of you have a LinkedIn page to promote your club on LinkedIn? Toastmasters International has created a step-by-step guide to help you build a page and learn how to advertise your club within LinkedIn. Check it out here

Warm regards,
Linda
