This time of year in Toastmasters reminds me of the Roman God Janus from which we get the name of the month of January. Janus looks both forward to the new year and back at the old year.  At this time, we must think both about completing the current year and getting ready for the next year.

How is your Club doing?  How is the Club Success Plan going?  What can your Club do to complete the CSP or any part of it? Did your Club not complete a Club Success Plan?  Take a moment to look at your club DCP.  Where can you concentrate to help your Club the most?  Is it with membership?  Do you need 1 or 2 more pathways completions to get a DCP point.  Who can you encourage in your Club to give a pathways speech and possibly complete a level?

Looking forward to next year, you want to have club officer elections.  If they are not already completed, you should look at getting them done soon.  Club officer submissions must be in to Toastmasters International by June 30th.  This submission impacts the DCP for the club NEXT year.

You will also wish to set up your new Club Officers for success.  Current officers should meet with the newly elected officers to get them ready for the new year. Additionally, you can set your new officers up for success by encouraging them to attend Club Officer training.  Club officer training begins in June, before the new year even starts.  What a great way to get new officers ready to start on July 1st!  Check the District website and calendar for the Club Officer training schedule.

Finally, we have some great incentives for Clubs when they reach Distinguished or better by the end of the Toastmasters year.
