An Attitude of Gratitude
As I write this, I realize that the American Thanksgiving holiday is fast approaching. I think of all the ways I have been blessed – with family, friends, opportunity, good health, and Toastmasters!
Of course, I am going to mention Toastmasters! This is a Toastmasters newsletter after all. In the 25 years that I have been in Toastmasters, I have gained skills in communication and leadership that have advanced my career, allowed me the confidence to perform stories on stage, and to be a professional Santa Claus performer! During my journey, I have had the opportunity to meet hundreds of Toastmasters. Each one with a unique perspective and gift.
I am grateful for the teams of people I get to work with. The District Trio, Division and Area Directors, and the club members of the clubs I have been working with. I also get to work with Club Mentors and Coaches that are working with newly formed clubs and strengthening low-member clubs.
Since we started this year, the District has chartered two new clubs – ToastPartners and Project Management Orators. In addition, we are working on several new clubs including two corporate clubs, a possible club with Minnesota Special Olympics, and a DTM-only club!
We have several opportunities for Club Coaches and Mentors coming up. Either one is a great experience in helping a new or existing Toastmasters club! Contact me if you would like more information!
Finally, we are very close to launching the Club Ambassador Program! This will be an opportunity for regular Toastmasters to expand their experience by visiting other clubs and fostering Toastmasters’ best practices!
I hope you find much to be grateful for during the upcoming holidays and throughout the year!
