Hello, my fellow Toastmasters! Welcome to a brand new Toastmasters year!

I am honored to be your Public Relations Manager this year! We’ve got a fabulous team lined up so far to help spread the word about your club and its talented members. In addition to our current lineup, we are also looking for a Social Media Manager and Graphic Design Manager. If you are working toward your DTM, this may be a perfect opportunity for a project or other DTM requirements. Please contact me for more details if you are interested.

As a Toastmaster, you are the best cheerleader for your club to shout from the rooftops all the amazing things that you and your club are doing throughout the Toastmasters year. Some examples of good news to share about your club and its members include the following:

• Education awards
• Club events such as Open Houses and Speech Contests
• Speech Contest winners
• Spotlights of elected officers and members
• Service involvement of individual members and the club as a whole

…and the list goes on and on.

In addition to knowing what to cheer about, please also consider the best way to get the word out. Press releases, social media posts, website announcements, and attendance at local activities are just some of the many opportunities. These options will help build relationships and spread the word naturally and conversationally. From talking up Toastmasters over lunch with a friend to sharing details about an upcoming event with your work colleagues, discussions about Toastmasters can happen naturally. If you are excited about Toastmasters, others will also be excited and eager to hear more about your experiences.

As your Public Relations Manager, I am here to help you with tips, tricks, and strategies to get the word out. In addition to providing several resources for you over the course of the year, I am also available to answer questions or give training to help you utilize the tools Toastmasters International has designed just for you.
