Are you getting the most out of your Toastmasters Experience?

When we look at the Toastmaster Experience, it always starts at the club.  This is where we are introduced to Toastmasters, where we learn to give effective speeches, build our confidence in many types of speaking situations, learn meeting management as the meeting Toastmaster and leadership skills through serving as a club officers.

Have you been growing in your confidence and abilities to speak and lead?  Are you ready for something more?  There are many opportunities to explore beyond the club.

Get involved with speech contests.  As I write this, the area contests for International Speech and Evaluation Contests are on the calendar and start in just two weeks.  It may be too late to compete, but you can volunteer to help as a judge, timer, sergeant at arms, or one of several other roles at the contest.  Contact your Area or Division Director to see what help they might need.  If you are not ready to volunteer, just attend.  Every Speaker needs an audience, and you can benefit from seeing more proficient speakers who are competing and giving their best efforts.

The Annual District Conference is April 25th and 26th.  The Conference will include educational sessions, motivational keynote speakers, and the District level Evaluation and International Speech contests. For more information go to https://d6tm.org/conference/

Finally, if you are in a District leadership role, or you are a President or VP of Education in your club, you are a part of the District council. Our Spring Business meeting is coming up on April 12th which will include our candidate showcase, an important vote on alignment of Areas and Divisions, and election of next year’s Trio and Division Directors.
