Gratitude
Happy June, Fellow Toastmasters!
I can’t believe the Toastmaster year 2020-2021 is almost over. It was a challenging year for most of us. That is why I am so grateful for all of you. I am grateful for the members that renewed as well as new members who want to learn and grow as communicators and leaders. I am grateful for the skills I have learned on Zoom. I am grateful for all of the Division Directors and Area Directors that persevered and hosted club officer training as well as serving their divisions/areas/clubs. I am grateful for all of the club officers that attended club officer training, learning something new that they could take back to their clubs. I am grateful to have worked with a fantastic district leadership team. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Step Up, please!
Help is still needed for Area Directors as well as an EGG chair. Areas needing an Area Director are 5, 15, 16, 23, 25, 35, 53. I can assure you that you will learn and grow as a communicator and a leader. You will not do this alone. Be that person that steps up outside of your club to make a difference in the lives of others while making a huge difference in your life! Please apply here to be an Area Director. In order to receive credit for doing the Area Director role your name needs to be submitted to Toastmasters International by September 1. Apply now so you can be involved in training and receive the tools you need to be empowered to make a difference!
EGG Chair – EGG, Elusive Gilded Gavel
Do you remember that program? How do you get the gavel for your club? By having a minimum of 2 members visit the club that is in possession of it. Why? See how other clubs hold their meetings, meet other Toastmasters. If you are interested in chairing the EGG program please contact me directly at Deb.Luu@d6tm.org.
End the Year Strong
With less than 30 days to finish strong, earn a Pathways award, invite a guest to your club, turn in the new officer list before June 30 on Toastmasters.org – Club Central. Start the new year strong by signing up for club officer training. Check the District 6 events calendar for upcoming training dates. Tip: Click Category and choose Club Officer Training, then click List View to isolate dates.
New Year’s Celebration
Special Event – Save the Date: July 10, 2021 from 9 AM – 12 PM at Redwood Park Shelter in Apple Valley, MN. Come join fellow Toastmasters to celebrate the Toastmasters new year. We will also be presenting triple crown pins and DTM medals to those who have earned them. The last time we gave them out was at the February 2020 Winter TLI. Bring a lawn chair if you don’t want to sit at a picnic table. A selection of individually wrapped sandwiches will be available as well as chips and water. We are keeping in mind safety for those of you who want to keep your social distance as well as in food preparation/handling. More information will be provided.
It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve District 6 members as Program Quality Director. Keep on learning and growing in Pathways. Stretch yourself to be a club officer. Continue on your Toastmasters journey. The sky’s the limit!
With Gratitude,
Deb
