Greetings fellow Toastmasters,
I hope you have been enjoying everything that summer has to offer. In District 6, we have been busy! I’ll share what’s been happening in the Program Quality Area.
Club Officer Training
In May and June, we held Train the Trainer sessions for our District leaders and fellow Toastmasters who have led and continue to lead Club Officer Training sessions. If you are a club officer and have not attended Club Officer Training, yet, please do so. You can go to the District 6 calendar to sign up. Here are the upcoming dates:
- Saturday, August 21, 2021 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Tuesday, August 31, 2021 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Please note that Round One Club Officer Training ends on August 31, 2021. In addition to all of the trainings offered by District 6, you can attend Club Officer Training in another District, just ask the Program Quality Director from that District to contact me to confirm your attendance and I can submit your Club Officer Training credit.
THANK YOU to all of the club officers who have already invested in themselves and in their clubs by participating in Round One Club Officer training sessions.
THANK YOU to our Division Directors, Area Directors, District Leaders, and fellow Toastmasters who have led these phenomenal training sessions and assisted as Zoom hosts (11 total training sessions, including the TLI, to date). We could not train our officers and provide for them without you!
NOTE: You can confirm that your training has been recorded on the District 6 website, just scroll to the middle of this page: District 6 Club Officer Training Attendance Log for Round 1.
If you attended training and your officer role for your club is not checked off, please send an email to our Administration Manager, Dave Schaal, DTM, with the date and time of the training that you attended and officer role and club that should to be marked as completed.

Learning Labs and New Member Orientation
Starting in September, the District 6 Program Quality Team will hold virtual opportunities for you to learn and grow in myriad ways. We’re calling them Learning Labs. We’ll host sessions on Pathways, Speechcraft, Area Council Meetings, our new Area Director Club Visit reports, Club Officer tips, Contest 101, and more. If you have an idea for a topic, please let me know at linda.dorn@d6tm.org.
The District will also offer monthly online NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION sessions via Zoom. We’re really excited to welcome our new members, share helpful information about the organization, about club meeting roles, club officer roles, Pathways, and so much more. Watch for more details to come later this month.
