Serving as a coach may not be easy, but the experience can be immensely rewarding. You may also wish to apply for membership in the club formally and participate as any other member. By sharing your knowledge and leading by example, you will set a standard of excellence that persists even after completing your assignment.
To receive credit in your assignments, the club must achieve Distinguished status or higher in the Distinguished Club Program (DCP)—the results of which are not final until after June 30. Once the results are final, successful club coaches will be sent a congratulatory letter and certificate. Refer to the distinguished performance reports to monitor progress in the DCP, and review the dedicated resourcesavailable to club coaches to help plan for success. As club coaches, you have two program years to help the club achieve a designation within the DCP.
Should the club not achieve Distinguished status or higher by the end of two program years, you can be reappointed. As the club coaches, you are responsible for contacting the Club Growth Director at that time to be reappointed. This information will be sent to you again via email should the club not achieve Distinguished status or higher.
If necessary, you or the Club President may request to cancel your appointment by contacting clubcoach@toastmasters.org. Our team at the world headquarters is also available to answer any questions you have.
