Happy New Year! Okay, a Toastmasters New Year!

As an individual Toastmaster, my year never ends.

I am starting my second year as your District 6 Distinguished Club Program (DCP) Chair and now Newsletter Editor, and our year is starting over, I appeal to every member to think about getting the ball rolling early! Continue the Path you are on or start a new one since you just completed one AND help figure out your club’s DCP goals for the new year as well – time to update the Club Success Plan.

Individual goals for the new year help members help each other stay on track to complete Levels, which in turn earn the Education points for the club and DCP. Officer Training opportunities have already started! We should already be working for those new members to get those points, too!

As your District’s Newsletter Editor, we are also in a new year and opportunity. What you see in the newsletter is your guide to communicating with your Area, Division, and District leaders. It reminds you of upcoming Officer Training dates, conferences, and important information. I intend to provide Toastmasters International resources, too.

The Trio provides important information. This year’s team will always have great things for all members to see and use. These leaders will be making this year a HUGE success! Let’s work together to help them, help us! Make sure to read their articles and the information they provide!

Let’s get those Officer Trainings done before the end of August so that we get full credit! Get those speeches and projects done so Levels can be completed. DCP points will add up quickly. Start planning those Open House or membership campaigns! Members will come. Planning and executing early will save time at the end of the year and allow for success throughout!
