Toastmaster of the Year [TMOY]

Please take time to recognize a deserving member of your club as the club’s Toastmaster of the Year (TMOY).

Each Toastmasters club has talented, hard-working and dedicated members. Each year, one member stands out because of their participation inside and outside the club. This member supports their fellow members, the club, and perhaps the overall Toastmasters organization. These members are deserving of Toastmaster of the Year (TMOY) recognition.

We encourage each club to select a TMOY and send the required form with specific examples of what this member did to receive the TMOY honor. To help the member achieve additional TMOY honors at the area, division, and district levels, please take some time to make the nomination and examples as strong as possible.

Please submit completed forms of your club’s TMOY to your Area Director by June 1st. The Area Director will consider your club’s TMOY for Area TMOY honors, announcing the recipient around June 17th. See below for details.

Toastmaster of the Year

Please nominate and submit a member for TMOY honors.

Clubs choose TMOY and turn into Area Director by June 10
 
Area Director picks TMOY from club TMOYs and turns into Division Director by June 20. 
 
Division Director picks TMOY from ones turned in by Area Directors and turns into Trio by June 25.


Area Director of the Year

Selected by each Division Director. A deserving Area Director will have upheld the district mission in their area, supporting all area clubs in achieving excellence.

Division Director of the Year

Selected by District Leaders for fulfilling the district mission in a given division.

Eligibility

Toastmaster of the Year (Club Level): All club members are eligible to receive the club Toastmaster of the Year honor. Special certificates and plaques are available for purchase from World Headquarters; visit the online store. 

Toastmaster of the Year (Area, Division and District levels): The area, division, and district Toastmaster of the Year is a Toastmaster who is not a district officer; but contributes to the district mission and goals of Toastmasters International.

Important Dates

  • June 10: Club selects a TMOY and forwards to Area Director.
  • June 20: Area Director selects Area TMOY & forwards to Division Director.
  • June 25: Division Directors forward nominations to District Trio
  • July 20: Announcement of Division & District TMOY at Summer TLI

Notes

  1. Use the current program year (July 1 – mid-May) to evaluate member achievements and contributions.
  2. Clubs should complete the TMOY form before submitting the nominee to their Area Director. Area Directors and Division Directors should use the same form.
  3. Area, Division, and District TMOY winners receive awards. Division and District TMOY winners will be listed on the D6 site.
