I was on LinkedIn and Toastmasters International had a survey to choose the word expressing this Toastmaster Year and I chose “Articulate” as many others did. Merriam Websters Dictionary`s meaning of “Articulate” is expressing oneself readily, clearly, and effectively.

This word in my opinion also expresses what holding a Speechcraft at your Club would teach all attending members and guests alike. Every person attending a Speechcraft can have the opportunity to grow in these areas because there is a role for all to partake in to learn from or polish skills or learning how to express oneself readily, clearly, and effectively and increase your Club Membership at the same time.

Toastmasters International has again improved the Pathways learning experience with adding the “Enhancements Program” and by doing a Speechcraft at your Club, you can fulfill many of those required “Enhancements.” Example of a few roles can be the Timer Role or Speech Evaluator for a Speech. For more information on the Enhancement Program go to YouTube and type in Toastmasters Pathways Enhancements to find excellent videos on the subject.

In the Speech part for the Path that you are working in, you can also fulfill projects. Two examples are in Level 3 in all Pathway Electives is Understanding Vocal Variety and Effective Body Language and by giving the Speech for the Speechcrafters to hear and learn from, you can get credit which is part of the Program and then in Level 4 is Public Relations Strategy you could be the person in charge of all the Public relations for the Speechcraft you are helping put on and receive credit for that role. These are examples of how not only the Coordinator of the Program benefits, also does the Club Member plus the Speechcrafter who learns from that speech presentation.
