Called to Serve

Thank you! Thank you to everyone who has invested in their personal and professional growth by renewing their membership or by joining Toastmasters for the first time! There are myriad ways in which we can grow in Toastmasters. I joined Toastmasters in January 2017 to remove filler words, to help me feel more comfortable speaking in front of an audience, to better organize a speech, and for something fun to do with my husband. I HAD NO IDEA about the incredible opportunities that would present themselves to me over the last 4 years.

I continue to grow in my public speaking skills and also flourish in my leadership journey. In the club, I have served in every club officer role except treasurer and secretary. Outside of my club, I had the pleasure of learning more about Toastmasters and serving our awesome District 6 members and clubs as a Pathways Guide, an Area Director, Division Director, Club Coach, Club Sponsor, Club Mentor, and now as the Club Growth Director. I promise you, when I gave my first speech as a new Toastmaster, I nervously clutched onto my 5-page speech and never imagined that I would learn the true meaning of servant leadership by serving in these roles in Toastmasters. Through these leadership roles, I am:

  • collaborating with talented Toastmasters
  • learning the skill of project management
  • discovering my leadership voice
  • being blessed with several formal and informal mentors
  • helping others grow in their public speaking and leadership skills
  • enjoying additional speaking opportunities and more!

I warmly invite you to step outside of your comfort zone and volunteer to serve your club as an officer (Officer elections are right around the corner.), help with PR and marketing, coordinate an open house, invite guests to join you at your club, and/or serve in one of the roles available at the District level. Great opportunities await you in Toastmasters! Listed below are great growth opportunities for you to consider.

New Club Sponsors and Mentors are Needed, as are Club Coaches for our Existing Clubs
