As this Toastmasters year comes to a close, so does my term as your Club Growth Director—a role that has stretched me, inspired me, and reminded me daily of the power of community. When I stepped into this position, I knew it would be a year of growth. What I didn’t know was just how much I would learn from you—our members, leaders, coaches, mentors, and volunteers who give so generously of your time and heart.

This year, I had the privilege of witnessing clubs rebuild, new clubs take shape, and members step forward with courage and creativity. I saw leaders rise to challenges with resilience. I saw teams collaborate across areas, divisions, and communities. And I saw the spirit of Toastmasters—supportive, determined, and hopeful—shine through every obstacle.

Club growth is never just about numbers. It’s about people finding their voice. It’s about clubs becoming places of belonging. It’s about leaders discovering strengths they didn’t know they had. It’s about members cheering each other on, even on the days when progress feels slow. And it’s about building something that lasts beyond any one term or title.

I am deeply grateful to my Extension Chair – Deb Miller, Retention Chair – Mandy Slag, and Club Coach Chair – Patricia Soulak, whose dedication made this work possible. Together, we celebrated wins, navigated challenges, and supported clubs with intention and heart. To every club officer, coach, mentor, and member who reached out, stepped up, or simply kept showing up—thank you. You made this year meaningful.

As I transition out of the Club Growth Director role and into the next chapter of service, I carry with me the lessons, relationships, and memories that shaped this year. I am proud of what we accomplished together, and even more excited for what lies ahead for our newly merged District 6.

The work continues. The momentum continues. The growth continues.

Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for partnering with me. And thank you for making this year one of purpose, progress, and connection.

Here’s to the clubs we strengthened, the leaders we developed, and the community we built—together.

With gratitude,

Deb Ndekwe, DTM

2025-26 Club Growth Director
