End of Year Resources a Click Away

Though I am completing my 31st year in Toastmasters, it is always a serendipitous moment when I learn something new – an item of knowledge that one would have thought that I learned long ago or should know very well. Then I remind myself about the “should” adages. Of course there are things in Toastmasters that I would run across that are new! Isn’t that what life is all about? Learning, relearning and being amazed by the process?

One such instance recently: as a Coach for a club, I made the statement that because it is a corporate club and I am not a member, I do not have access to the dashboard – the webpage where data is compiled about the club and how they are doing related to their Distinguished Club Program (DCP) goals. The very next day, as I was going through our newly updated d6tm.org website getting resources for the club, there it was – a simple click to the link for the dashboard. Typing their club name in the search, I saw all of the data for the club. Voila! I realized I had been a liar.

How wonderful! The newly developed District website has links to many, many resources from the Toastmasters.org International site so that they are at our fingertips without signing in as we must do for that site. I offer you a few of these handy links from your District website. To go back to the Home Page click on the Toastmasters logo at any time.

Go to d6tm.org and click on the Resources tab at the top of the Home Page, then your designation, e.g., Member or Club Officer.

For guest materials, click on the Resources tab, then the Guest tab. Membership Applications and digital guest packets are here.

Members, check out the page dedicated to you. How are you doing on the Toastmaster’s promise? I really like that pledge: https://www.toastmasters.org/about/toastmasters-promise

As a Club Officer, nearly all resources you will need are under Resources/Club Leaders: https://d6tm.org/club-leaders/.

On that webpage is the dashboard: http://dashboards.toastmasters.org/District.aspx?id=06

Following is the form to distribute to members as a guide for nominating their choice for Toastmaster of the Year (TMOY). Remember, officers are eligible for nomination, and the answer to a recent question posed to me is, “Yes, you may vote for yourself!” Forward the result to your Area Director by the due date, June 1st:

Are your club members getting TM info?

Especially if you are in a corporate club, check to be sure that everyone is getting information from both Toastmasters International and the District, for example this newsletter. Often, corporations or personal Internet service providers may direct these communications to junk or spam folders.

I wish you luck ending your Toastmaster year successfully.
