It’s All About the Members

As DCP Chair my time has been spent checking the Dashboard as each club has been accumulating those Distinguished Club Program goals. With just under three months left in the year, I want ALL clubs Distinguished and if at least 50 clubs make it to at least five goals with the qualifying requirement*, the District is Distinguished. My goal is obviously for a LOT more than 50! That hasn’t happened in a while and would be, in the words of Keanu Reeves as Ted “Theodore” Logan in “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure”, “Most Excellent!” (Yes, I am a fan of his and the movie.)

Right now, our Dashboard is looking encouraging. I presented at TLI that we have already had 369 Education awards! (Now over 400!)  I know many more will be coming before June 30th. Congratulations to all members who are learning and growing in Pathways and earning all of these awards! Round 2 of Officer Training is over and once updated, that number will be greatly increased as well. Membership Renewal time is also upon us, and we need to encourage and engage our current membership.

Public Relations brought almost 200 people to TLI and offered those members the opportunity to see Verity Price, last year’s World Champion of Public Speaking, attend Officer Training, and participate in other education sessions by some of our great members to learn more about various subjects such as Speechcraft, Speech Contests, and Growing Your Club.

Now is the time to finish strong by making sure each member is receiving value for their membership. Hold quality meetings, help members complete their Pathway projects to earn even more awards, have open houses, welcome guests to club meetings and ask them to join. Post on your social media to get the word out. As I had also stated at TLI, we are ALL VPPRs, and we are all in this together to make the rest of this year the reason we are here – we ARE Toastmasters and want to carry forward into 2022 – 2023 with more members to have new eyes, and add new officers for our future. Spread the word to your coworkers, friends and family about the benefits of Toastmasters.
