Plan to Finish Strong Now!

Fellow Toastmasters:
Spring is in the air! Can you feel it? We are less than one month away from the official start of
spring – March 20th. Spring is a time to reflect on how far you have come and what you want to
accomplish in the next four months. Spring is a time for new, fresh ideas. I want to help District
6 clubs and members finish strong in the next four months. It is not too early to plan
to finish strong on June 30th. You can take steps to achieve success for yourself as well as for
your club:

  • Start collecting dues now so your club can be in good standing by March 31.
  • Start mentoring members to serve as club officers for next year.
  • Turn in that new officer list by June 30.
  • Complete those Pathways projects to reach your education goals.

Friends, I can feel the energy, and I hope you can as well. It’s out there for us to grab, for us
to finish strong. And I am here to assist you. The time is now to finish strong on June 30th!

Speech Contest Participation

Club Speech Contests have already begun! I highly encourage you to participate. It’s like no
other experience. If you are a newer member, participate in the Table Topics Contest.
Participate in the International Contest if you have an inspiring and motivating message you
would like to share and you have completed 6 legacy speeches or 2 levels in Pathways. If you
are still needing more preparation for your contest, the newly-developed District 6 site has
combined resources from the Toastmasters International and District websites under the Events
Tab/Speech Contests. Area Speech Contests have begun as well. You can find them on the
District 6 calendar page. Feel the excitement by attending these and learning from some
of the best speakers in District 6. You can even sign up to be a volunteer at a contest here. It
takes a village to put on a speech contest.

Leadership Beyond the Club

Finally, planning has begun for the next Toastmaster year starting July 1st. If you are interested
in learning and growing to be a better communicator and leader, building relationships and trust,
and making a difference in clubs and members, please apply to be an Area Director by going to
the Help Wanted page here. It is an amazing opportunity for you, for your personal
development, for what Toastmasters is all about!
Friends, let’s get started on plans and actions to finish strong now. It’s not too early. Finish
strong as a member for you! Finish strong as a club for all of the members! Please let me
know how I can help. I am just an email away, here to serve the members of District 6
Toastmasters. Working Together – Celebrating Excellence!
With gratitude,
Deb
