Ready for a new Beginning?

For many, January is a time of reflection. I invite you to take time to see how far you have gone in your Toastmaster’s journey and what you will achieve next! Will you complete a path? Are you ready to step into leadership in your club or the District?

Club Officer Training is in Full Swing!

Club officers have an opportunity to attend training for the second half of the Toastmaster Year. Our training is engaging and gives each attendee the chance to contribute to break-out sessions! Club Officer Training enables the officers to effectively serve their club and members!

See the District Calendar for Training Dates https://d6tm.org/calendar/

The District has many incentives for clubs that reach their Membership and DCP goals. We had one incentive for clubs that have achieved 5 DCP points by December 31st.

Congratulations to the following clubs that have achieved this incentive!

  • HealthToasters Club
  • Tech Masters-Twin Cities
  • SUPER Communicators
  • Up and Optum Toastmasters
  • OptUMs and Ahs
  • Tri-County Toastmasters
  • Word Masters
  • Pathways new LMS

Toastmasters will be launching a new Learning Management System in the first half of this calendar year.

It is important that levels earned in pathways are also added to Club Central. As we move to the new learning system, the level will be approved once only, so it is important that the approvals are done in both pathways and Club Central so that they won’t get lost when we move to the new system.

Club Success is a Team effort!

It takes all the members of the club to achieve success in the Distinguished Club Program.

Club officers will go to training, all members can help with club membership and all members should be working in Pathways and contributing to the Educational portion of the DCP. If a member is working two or more paths at the same time, it is important to know that a club can only get credit for 1 of each level submitted by the same member in the same year. For example, Toastmaster Jane is working on both the Presentation Mastery path and the Engaging Humor path. She completes level 1 and level 2 in Presentation Mastery and submits them to her club.  She then goes to Engaging Humor and completes level 1. When she submits it and a club officer approves it, she will get credit for the second level 1, but the club will not get credit in the DCP for the second Level 1.

Ways to be sure your club gets credit for all levels you submit:

Work one path at a time. This will make it less likely that you submit two award levels in the same year.

Join a second club! If you want to work through Pathways more quickly, join a second club! This way each club can get credit for one of the two levels you have completed.
