Setting the Stage for Success

It has often been said that past performance is an indicator of future success.

With that in mind, I believe the future for District 6 is incredibly bright!

Last year was the Year of the Pivot. A time of moving from a very challenging place to seeing new opportunities, and beginning the process of creating a new normal. Through the intentional efforts of many, we were able to accomplish many things despite some expected and unexpected challenges. Here are just a few:

  • 2 New Clubs Chartered: NorthRock Partners and DocuSign SE Toastmasters
  • Productive Strategy Sessions with Low Member Clubs to Identify a Path to Help Them Thrive
  • Numerous Club Growth Director Visits
  • 14 Club Coach Appointments
  • 5 Region Advisor Visits to Low Member Clubs – Thank you, Catherine Secundiak, DTM!
  • 7 Active Rebuilds
  • 3 Potential Rebuilds
  • 12 Clubs earn Net Membership Incentive Awards
  • 1 President Distinguished Area – Area B4 – Thank you, Deb Luu, DTM!
  • 1 Distinguished Area – Area D31 – Thank you, Liza Strate!
  • 6 President’s Distinguished Clubs
    • Stagecoach Speakers – Early Risers
    • Tag Talk Toastmasters
    • UPS Minneapolis
    • SUPER Communicators
    • Word Masters Club
    • Chamber Toastmasters
  • 6 Select Distinguished Clubs
    • Golden Toasters
    • Pumpernickel Toastmasters
    • Dan Patch Toastmasters Club
    • Money Talks
    • Speakers After Hours Toastmasters Club
    • Escalate
  • 4 Distinguished Clubs

    • On the Road Again
    • Speak N’ Eagan

I believe that as we continue to be intentional in our efforts to uplevel the member experience, strengthen existing clubs, build new clubs, and look for ways to take the district to the next level, it will be a Win for ALL! Last year’s ceiling can become the floor that we build from.

From a training perspective, we have built on the tremendous efforts of Past Program Quality Director, Linda Dorn, DTM, and Past District 6 Training Director, Jamie Richter, DTM. Part of these efforts includes having a dedicated training team working in partnership with Division Directors to create a more engaging format. This creates a more consistent training experience where we monitor quality and seek to uplevel it. Our earnest desire is to provide relevant and engaging Club Officer Training that helps Clubs Officers be effective in their efforts to support their members in a meaningful way.

We will have our first TLI on Saturday, August 6th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Westcott Library in Eagan. This will be an in-person-only event. Our Theme is “Let’s Make It Happen”. This is tied to our District Theme for this year: Achieving Member Growth and Leadership Excellence! With that in mind, Let’s Make Quality Clubs Happen! Let’s Make Member Growth (Individual Member Growth and Numeric Growth) Happen! Let’s Make Leadership Excellence Happen! If you are interested in helping, please let me know.

As a District Trio, we are diligently seeking ways to make the year ahead one of the best ones District 6 has ever known! Each of you plays a key role in making that a reality!

Thank you to each of you for your dedication to your Toastmaster’s Journey, the part you played to help your club to thrive, and the many ways YOU have helped District 6 be the BEST it Can Be!

I am looking forward to a great year with you!

The Best Is Yet Ahead!

Sincerely,

Colleen Marie
